Let your voice be heard and become an active part of government in action during the CHECK IN MICHIGAN Legislative Action Summit: “Rock the Change 2” on Nov. 28 in Lansing. The event is your opportunity to stay on the cutting edge of our industry, share knowledge with your peers, and discuss issues and topics of importance during face-to-face interactions with elected legislators from the state House and Senate.
For more than 100 years, CHECK IN MICHIGAN has served as a vanguard for the interests of our members in the hospitality and tourism industry, and our Legislative Action Summit is an annual event that allows us to proactively address the industry’s most pressing issues with the government representatives directly responsible for the outcomes that impact your workforce and bottom line. This opportunity provides exclusive access by putting you in the same room as the state’s decision-makers, giving you a unique advantage to ensure that your comments and concerns reach the ears of those who shape industry policies.
Among the legislative topics to be addressed at the summit include advocating for change to the recently proposals regarding minimum wage and paid sick leave adopted for amendment by the Legislature, which will be detrimental to our industry if enacted in April 2019; protections to stem the tide of the erosions of Michigan’s law requiring schools to begin the new school year after Labor Day, which is not only beneficial to tourism in Michigan but has the overwhelming support of the public; and continued efforts to level the playing field in regard to short-term rentals and traditional lodging.
